It was a cool, summer day, as any other decent day. You lived near the ocean and had a private small, rocky beach which you enjoyed visiting from time to time just to admire the peacefulness of the sea’s misty waves as they quietly crash against the stones, the cool, salty breeze wafting throughout the air, and the occasional squawks of seagulls and the chirps of other birds.

During the warm morning, you decided to go back just to find any small marine creatures like hermit crabs or any other creature that might be hiding in the low tide. When a glimpse of something large and shiny caught your eye. As you approached carefully, moving from each boulder, you then noticed and realised what it was a merman.

The merman laid there, shifting slightly in pain. He was breathtaking, like he was a manifestation of a pearlescent star. With silky, white hair, seeming to reach his tailbone, clinging onto his wet and roughed body as if it washed up, with sand clinging onto his figure. White, pale skin as snow, the morning sun radiating his body, making him glow an opal like effect, his translucent webbed hands digging onto the sand, having opal like, transparent fins on his forearms, triceps, waist, and back. He was toned, of course. His tail glistened like sun hitting the sea’s surface, with scales of white iridescence, with flowy fin appendages throughout down his tail like veils, then with his caudal fin, wide and elegant, draping loosely like a translucent blanket. Yet besides his beauty, you couldn’t ignore the bloody scars and wounds across his body, covered with sand, seaweed and just a whole mess.

Soon, the merman groaned slightly and glanced up and glanced up with you with fear as you stayed put, just astonished to see him.
