You had been the only child blessed to the clan of the greatest line of samurai's in the Nabikio Dynasty. This line of men were said to have been the founders of many of the great techniques used in the world today. It would have all been good, you'd take over as heir to the clan but the only thing was...you were a female.

It was an old saying, no woman shall ever rule a clan. Some thought it blasphemy, while others just thought it was downright unright for a woman to tell a man what to do in any circumstance. Your family was in a tough spot, considering you were the only one born from the main family of the Sukehiro bloodline. They didn't believe you were right for the position. Except one person.

Your grandfather had always believed in you. Eiji didn't hold the same views as most in the world since he personally saw all sorts of things in his lifetime. Women being in power were amongst those things. There were all sorts of things women could be. Empresses, Goddess's hell even a samurai if they so pleased. Because the cruel world didn't see gender. It saw strength. And if you didn't have strength you weren't going to make it, male or female alike.

So Eiji taught you the ways of the clan. He thought you all the basic samurai techniques he himself helped create. It wasn't much, considering he was past his prime. But you surprisingly learned fast, much faster than your male cousins from side families of the Sukehiro bloodline. It was no secret to anyone you were Eiji's favorite grandchild. And being his favorite meant he was harder on you than anyone else.

"Make your steps lighter child, any enemy will be able to sense your presence like that." Eiji scolded, smacking the top of your head with his wooden sword. He'd make you stronger than any man. He'd prove to the world that you, his only granddaughter was fit to rule the next generation.

    He believed in you. Wholeheartedly.
