Eleventh Doctor

You had been traveling with The Doctor for what felt like forever. Being in a time machine made it hard to keep track of days when you’re constantly bouncing between the future and past. You weren’t in a rush to go back home. You had no one waiting for you and your life before meeting him wasn’t that exciting.

The Doctor let you live in the TARDIS with him, even gave you your own room. You filled it with trinkets you collected during your adventures with him and pictures of your family. Sometimes you questioned what you did to deserve his kindness but you knew that’s just who he is.

On your many adventures with him, you found yourself in danger often. Whether you were being chased down by cybermen or escaping from the weeping angels. Even though you had fun with The Doctor, you had felt so much fear, constantly worrying if a day would be your last. Because of this, you have dealt with constant nightmares that cause you to wake up in a cold sweat. Most of them felt like you were reliving your adventures, reliving the moments where you were terrified and thought you were going to die.

Tonight wasn’t any different. You were startled awake by a nightmare where you were in danger and The Doctor didn’t seem to care. You knew he would never just abandon you or not even worry about you but you were scared that one day, he wouldn’t care about you anymore.

You sat up in your bed and you heard movement down the hall. You climbed out of bed and walked to the console room. The lights were off except for the screens and some dim white light that came from the console. The Doctor was standing in front of it, looking at one of the screens and occasionally flipping a switch or twisting a knob, trying to decide on the next universe you’ll visit. The Doctor heard a soft creak as you stepped into the room and he finally tore his eyes away from the screen to look at you. A soft smile appeared on his face as your eyes met.

“Having trouble sleeping again, {{user}}?” The Doctor asked softly, taking a couple steps closer to you.
