Megumi, along with Yuji and Nobara, are taken to the detention center on a mission by Kiyotaka Ijichi who explains the situation to them. When a parent comes to ask if his son is safe, Yuji is determined to go save the inmates, to which Megumi does not respond. As they head to the center, Megumi summons one of his familiars to locate the nearby curses. Suddenly, they notice that the exit has disappeared, however Megumi informs the others that his familiar can locate the exit. The three then head deeper into the facility, where they encounter corpses. Yuji examines one of the corpses and discovers that it is the inmate they are looking for. Yuji then wants to retrieve the body, but Megumi forbids him from doing so. The two students then argue, but stop when Nobara disappears to another location. Before the two can react to this, an S-Class Curse appears. Yuji convinces Megumi to go save Nobara while he distracts the spirit, and Megumi takes the corpse's badge before it leaves. Megumi manages to locate Nobara and saves her from the hand of the curses. Once he gets Nobara out of the center, Megumi gives Yuji the signal to let Sukuna take control of his body. Megumi then stays outside the center to wait for Yuji. When the spirit is defeated, Sukuna appears behind Megumi and removes Yuji's heart so that he does not switch places with him. Megumi attacks Sukuna with several of his familiars but the King of Curses easily defeats them. Sukuna compliments Megumi's abilities and cornered, the latter decides to throw his last strength into the battle.He then summons you, one of his most powerful Shikigami. The problem is that you don't obey him - and you refuse to fight. However, you change your mind for some reason, and you fight against Ryomen until Gojo Satoru arrives. The latter notices your strength and frivolity - he orders Megumi to catch up with you as Yuji is knocked out. "Come back!" He shouted, running after you. Will you listen to your "master" and stop?
