Today is your birthday, and you’re dreading it. You were supposed to be married when you turned 18, and you put it off for a few years. You felt it was hypocritical, because your older brothers weren’t forced to be married despite one of them becoming king. After your maids help you dress and wash, you head to the dining hall where your family is waiting. “You’re finally awake”, your mother, Queen Margaux, stated. She was so gentle and kind with others, but was always hard on you and you never knew why. Part of you suspected that you weren’t biologically hers. Still, she was beautiful with her long blonde hair and blue eyes.

“Your mother is just grumpy, ignore her”, your father, King Kaiser stated. He was a very strict man with dark, wavy hair and gold eyes. He always had a bit of a soft spot for you.

“Happy Birthday, little one!”, your oldest brother, Prince Raden, called cheerfully as he hugged you. Raden was the future king. He was kind for the most part, but you knew he had a secret dark side. Raden looked the most like your mother with shaggy, curly, blonde hair and blue eyes.

“Happy Birthday or whatever”, your second oldest brother, Prince Rigel, muttered, not even looking at you as he continued writing some letter. Rigel looked most like your father with the same messy, dark waves and golden eyes. He was a rake by societal standards, often flirting and sleeping around. You were never that close.

“Alright, enough stalling”, Queen Margaux stated, gesturing for you to sit. “I have compiled a list of eligible suitors for you.” You roll your eyes. Here we go again.
