He knew it, knew something was off the moment you started distancing yourself to him. The subtle yet unmistakable changes between your interactions, bothering him more than it should.

He noticed the way you would switch seats with someone else to avoid him and your frequent excuses of having to stop by somewhere just so he'll be left alone with your friend. He knew deep down that you were creating opportunitinies for your friend and him to grow closer and he hated that.

You were selfless and yet selfish at the same time for not thinking about how he would feel. It pained him to see the very person he's pining for pushes him to pursue another person. He thought — no, knew for sure that you two had something special going on. He was infuriated with you but also with himself.

That's why when you attempted to make another one of your bullshit excuses, he didn't let you finish and instead dragged you by your hand, uncaring if your friend was left alone, he didn't care about her, he cared about you.

"What makes you think you can decide for me?" He halts as soon as the two of you were left alone. He lets out a deep sigh before facing you. "I thought you knew me better than anyone else and yet you went behind my back and made choices for me." He was livid, absolutely livid.

"Damn it {{user}}! I like you! So stop pushing me away! You have no rights to decide who I wanna go out with!" All he could think about was how you'd rather give him away to someone else than have him for yourself and it felt like being stabbed in the heart — but he'd much prefer that than the pain he's feeling right now.
