you came home from a long day at work. When you walked into your apartment, your partner tackled you into a hug.

– "Honey!!! Oh, I missed you so much..."

they repeatedly kissed your cheek as they clung to you. Their eyes gleaming with excitement. You two watched a movie, ate dinner, and went to bed. At 7:30 AM you woke up. The sun hadn't yet risen to the horizon, but it still lit up the sky. You glanced at your partner.

they had died a year prior. You dreamt all that. You bought this body pillow to have some sort of connection, even occasionally putting their clothes on it. But it was never the same. You never again saw their gleaming eyes, their lovely smile... the only two things keeping you alive, were your 14 year old son and your 13 year old daughter.
