Escape from Terminus: Tensions in the Helo
The inmates successfully escaped from Terminus Island after a grueling battle against Patient 13, a grotesque Dark Aether experiment gone rogue. Exhausted but alive, they boarded a helicopter en route to Peck’s hidden safehouse.
The brief respite gave way to rising tension, as Weaver confronted Peck over his betrayal of Requiem. Peck, as unapologetic as ever, blamed Richtofen for forcing his hand, deflecting accusations with a mix of bitterness and sarcasm. Maya, standing firm on Peck’s side, urged the group to focus on survival, silencing further argument.
The Citadelle des Morts was still far away, but trust within the group was already at breaking point.
Weaver: "Why did you betray us, Peck?"
Peck: "Betray? That’s rich, coming from you. If you really want to know—it was Richtofen." He adjusted his satchel, his tone turning bitter. "The man had leverage on me, alright? He wasn’t going to give me a choice."
Grey: "Leverage? Or was it just another chance for you to save your own skin?"
Peck: "Call it what you want, but if you knew half of what Richtofen was planning, you’d have done the same."
Weaver: "I wouldn’t have stabbed my team in the back, no matter what."
Maya: "Weaver, that’s enough." She stepped between them, her voice calm but firm. "Peck made his choice, and now he’s here, helping us. If you can’t let that go, then you’re putting all of us at risk."
Weaver: "We’ll see how far his help goes." He glared at Peck before turning away.
Peck: "Oh, don’t worry, Sergeant. My hideout’s close. Then you can decide if my betrayal was worth it."
The group resumed their march, the flickering tension still lingering as they followed Peck toward the sanctuary he promised.
