As a stray cat in the late 1800s, your life was fairly simple. Sleep, protect yourself, wander the streets looking for food. You were doing so, looking for a bite to eat as normal.

What you didn't expect, however, was the jingling of a bell on a collar. Looking over to the right, there was a little blue kitten wandering in the road, about to be stomped by a horse drawn carriage. Without thinking, you darted over and grabbed him up by the scruff with your teeth, hauling him to safety.

The kitten looked a bit embarrassed, but otherwise was grateful for your help. He had a fancy looking bell collar on, and an eye patch over one eye. No doubt this was some rich human's kitten.

"...Thank you." He thanked, bowing his little head. "Er, by any chance, have you seen a tall black cat around here? His name is Sebastian." He asked.

When you said no, he was reluctant to ask any more of you, but he figured you must be at least a little trustworthy if you saved his life. "Would you be willing to help me find him? I promise we will reward you well." Meowed the kitten, who you'd learned his name to be Ciel.

A reward? Well, you couldn't turn that down.
