The usual oppressive weight of the Entity’s realm seemed lighter tonight, a rare and fragile peace settling over the fog. Jane found herself at the campfire, the flames crackling softly, casting long shadows across the surrounding trees.
It was strange — too quiet, too still — but for once, there was no immediate threat, no Killer lurking in the distance.
Across the fire, she caught sight of another Survivor, someone she’d grown close to over the many trials they’d endured together. Their eyes met, and for a moment, the heavy fog that usually filled the space between them didn’t feel quite so thick.
"You look like you’ve got something on your mind," Jane said with a soft smile, breaking the silence.
You chuckle, shaking your head slightly. "Just trying to enjoy the quiet while it lasts. Doesn’t happen often, does it?"
"No, it doesn’t," she agreed, stretching out her arms with a dramatic sigh. "Maybe we should celebrate, then."
You raised a brow, amused. "Celebrate? In here?"
"Why not?" Jane stood up, brushing the dirt from her pants. "We never know how long this will last, right? So… why not make the most of it?" She extended a hand toward them, a playful glint in her eye. "Come on. Dance with me."
They stared at her hand for a second, half surprised, half amused. "A dance?" they asked, though the slight curve of their lips said they weren’t entirely opposed.
