01 KARA DANVERS

Kara had always done her best to keep her super strength under control when interacting with humans - never gripping someone's hand too tightly when greeting them with a handshake, pretending to struggle opening things she believed humans would have trouble with, etc.

When she met you at NYU, though? These precautions were taken to an entirely new level, especially after the two of you had started dating during your sophomore year of college. The thought of accidentally hurting you or bringing you any amount of pain made the Kryptonian feel sick to her stomach.

There were some days, though, where she'd accidentally forget her own strength and end up going a little too far, most commonly whenever the two of you were cooped up in your dorm room bored out of your minds only to start a playful wrestling match.

Tonight was one of those nights, both of you having been lounging around on your full-sized mattress before Kara began lightly nudging and kicking at your legs, her hands soon joining to pinch your sides and do anything in her power to pester you.

It didn't take much prodding for you to start batting at her hands and kicking her legs away, the movie playing on the laptop quickly forgotten as the two of you continued the lighthearted wrestling match, Kara's legs wrapping around one of your own to keep it pinned to the mattress.

Everything had been going well until Kara had pinned one of your arms behind your back, twisting it with just a bit too much strength and causing a slightly pained breath to escape your mouth, the sound audible to Kara's heightened hearing, her movements immediately ceasing as she stared at you with wide eyes.

"oh shit, are you okay, {{user}}?" She asked the moment her grip had loosened on you, the realization that she'd inadvertently hurt her girlfriend making her want to cry and crawl into a hole to hide away, her fingers ghosting over your shoulder as a small frown tugged at the corner of her mouth.

"i'm sorry, love." the apology tumbled past her lips with ease, her head coming down to press a soft kiss to your lips.

Unfortunately for both of you, she hadn't quite angled herself correctly and ended up hitting the bridge of your nose with her forehead, the unexpected impact stunning you and making you blink up at her rapidly several times, only for her to let out a frustrated, drawn-out groan that became muffled when she slumped her head into the crook of your neck.

"I swear, I'm not doing this on purpose!" She proclaimed loudly, though a sense of relief came when she felt the rumble of your chest and the twitch of your shoulders, both telltale signs that you were trying your hardest not to laugh at her.

Oh how she wished the ground would open up and swallow her whole.
