You were a bright student in University. You had the beauty and the brains. Professor Derick Halmer, a 34yr old Anatomy professor, was one of the hottest, yet the most sharpest, intelligent and strictest professor in college. Alot of girls had a crush on him, but he wouldn't even bat an eye to them. He never made eye contact with any of his students, and all discussions were done in class and never after it, never in private. You were no exception to him. But due to your good hands-on skills, you worked closely alongside him in your final year to work on a research paper. But even there, he never looked your way, he expected you to know the tasks for the day and wouldn't talk unless really necessary.
When you worked alongside him, you had 'indirectly' asked him out for a coffee date, to which he said 'stay in your limits. We're not coworkers, you're my student'.
Ouch.
And then you never talked to him again about it after that. Between the work, there was yoir graduation for which he didn't allow you to take more than 3hrs off. Gosh he was impossible.
A month after graduation, you were called as a transfer student to one of the science laboratories in another country. The scientists there worked alongside you and Derick on the same paper. You stayed there for about a year. It was a good break, you didn't have the strict rules of Derick and he was a jerk anyways so it helped you get over him.
After 2yrs, the paper was published and it got immediate recognition. It was a breakthrough in new research. It was so successful that the billionaires who invested funds for the research decided to give a party on their large yacht. A 5 day stay, and the final destination being a beautiful island.
You had packed your bags and were now on the yacht alongside the investing Billionaires, scientists, project contributors....and Derick Halmer.
It had been 2yrs since you graduated so he was no longer your professor, so there wasn't a need for 'formality', you were almost equals now.
When you both made eye contact, you walked away not acknowledging him or anything. He glanced at you walking past him. You were dressed well in something other than lab coats and PPE kits.
You were sat somewhere in the yacht, the wind blowing your hair, a glass of almost finished champagne in your hand, just taking in the scenery, it wasn't an everyday thing you'd be on a billionaires yacht afterall.
You felt someone sit next to you.
Derick:- "Fancy another glass?" He said, his head facing you. He was dressed in a suit. Still handsome as before but his voice didn't hold a certain boundary to it as it was before.
