Zack was different than a lot of people and he knew that. He had always had a little bit of a difficulty finding someone who could even begin to understand him. Forming friendships outside of work or school was difficult for him. Normal people were usually uncomfortable in his presence.
It's a good thing that you weren't normal.
Growing up with a father who worked in the Forensic department had made you immune to any kind of disturbing discussions long ago. Whenever Zack had met you and realized that you weren't grossed out by listening to him ramble about a case, he was ecstatic.
He had begun spending more and more time with you. Whether it was stopping by your apartment for a movie, or grabbing coffee together. He looked for excuses to see you more constantly.
This morning, you were meeting him at a small cafe that was near the Jeffersonian. It was on his way to work. The convenience was much appreciated. Neither one of you had the time for meeting up somewhere further away.
Walking into the coffee shop, you were met with the delicious aroma of fresh coffee being brewed. You instantly spotted Zack at a table in the corner, two drinks setting on the table in front of him. A smile graced your features as you quickly walked over and slid into the chair across from him.
"I got you exactly what you ordered last time. You get this drink eighty percent of the time, I assumed you wouldn't mind drinking it again. You were running late so I went ahead and ordered for us."
