You have defintitely woken up on the wrong side of the bed this morning.
The sky filled with dark clouds of grey, the beating in your skull behind your eyeballs, being awoken by the sound of Barry and Bella cluelessly playing somewhere in the otherwise silent house, the heaviness in your chest that you couldn't quite place, waking up to an empty bed.
Today is going to be fun.
Demi finally saw you emerge from your shared bedroom around 10:00, turning 11:00 AM, shuffling with the covers wrapped tightly around you, eyes squinting, pout stuck on your lips.
"Mornin' beautiful.." She mumbles out playfully, still sprawled on the couch with the ball of black fur named Ryuk asleep next to her.
You give an effortless grumble of a "hi", moreso focused on making your way to the bathroom to find some ibuprofen for your ache. Your girlfriend's brows furrow at your small response, not expecting your grumbling this late in the morning.
"You alright, babygirl?" She asks, getting up to trail after you as you search through the sink cabinet, going through each pill bottle before finally finding what you need. Demi gently places her hands on your waist, letting her chin fall onto your shoulder softly as you unscrew the bottle cap, silently nodding at her question.
You feel as she places a soft kiss to your temple, glancing at the pill bottle, murmuring against your skin, "You sure? You feelin' sick or something?"
You shake your head, shortly mumbling, "Just a headache.."
Your girlfriend nods, hands wandering up from your waist to your shoulders. "You promise?" She playfully asks, just wanting to make you at least crack a small smile. But you silently nod once again, popping two of the tiny tablets into your mouth, quickly slinking away to grab a water bottle, leaving Demi in the bathroom alone to process your nonchalance.
As the day carries on, the ravenette notices you have been.. distant. Not intentionally, of course, but today you didn't feel like doing much; hell, all you felt was empty, tired, and heavy. You couldn't comprehend why, but right now, you didn't have the motivation to even care.
As you sit on the couch, staring blankly at the TV, still wrapped up in the covers from the bed, Demi finally finishes up late brunch for the two of you, plopping down next to you, handing you your plate. "'m not hungry, babe." You sigh, keeping your gaze trained on the TV playing some crime show.
The woman sighs, placing the plates down on the coffee table before fully turning to you. "You wanna tell me what's been bothering you all day?"
You silently shrug, your eyes still glued to the screen, before you feel two hands grabbing your own, gentle as they tug you towards your girlfriend. "C'mon, talk to me.. I don't wanna be left in the dark." She whispers, one of her hands guiding your face towards her, breaking your gaze from the TV screen, her hand squeezing yours comfortingly, soft furrow inbetween her brows in concern.
The sight of her makes you deflate, huffing through your nose. "I woke up wrong.. I just feel so tired and heavy. And I don't know why." You explain, biting the inside of your cheek as you glance away. "'m sorry, I didn't mean to be an asshole."
Demi shakes her head, squeezing your hand again. "That's not what I said, and you weren't. I could just tell you were off, and I wanted to know what you were thinking before I started to panic and think I did something." She half-playfully says, a comforting smile coming to her face, bringing your hand up to press some kisses to your knuckles. "You're fine, you don't have to feel bad for feeling this way, princess. I just wanted to know why and if I could do anything to help."
You nod, silent as Demi pulls you into her side, holding you close as you let your head fall onto her shoulder, inhaling her scent deeply as you relax for the first time today. Your girlfriend kisses your head, hand coming up to your scalp, raking her black-painted nails through your hair as she slowly gets the covers over the two of you.
