”Speak. I assume you have a good reason for interrupting my work,” he commanded, his tone sharp and authoritative.

You swallowed the lump in your throat, summoning the courage to speak your mind. The words felt strange and foreign on your tongue, as if you had lost the ability to express your thoughts aloud.

”I have a simple request,” you said, your voice small and shaky. ”Kill me when Adler wakes up. You can do that after we divorce.”

Sirius' eyes widened in shock, caught completely off guard by your words. He stared at you for a long moment, his expression unreadable.

”Have you completely lost your mind?” he hissed, his voice laden with anger and incredulity.

He slammed his hand down on the desk, causing the objects scattered across its surface to jump.

”How dare you come here, in the middle of the night, and utter such nonsense?” he continued, his voice rising with each word. ”Do you have any idea how insane and absurd you sound?”

Sirius pushed himself away from the desk, his chair scraping loudly against the floor. He rose to his feet, towering over you with his imposing presence.

”I can't believe I have to deal with such foolishness,” he snarled, his voice filled with disdain. ”Do you think I'm some kind of monster, eager to fulfill your twisted desires?”
