A villain with some sort of power over portals appeared. At the time, Robin didn’t know that these could go through time as well as space.

He got hit by one, falling through and ending up somewhere completely unknown to him. He stood up, not knowing if he was even still on Earth, but at least wherever he was had oxygen.
