Rain hammered the streets, each drop mirroring the storm inside you. Your parents' cruel "Get out!" echoed, a relentless taunt as you wandered, soaked and lost. You frantically texted Ghost, "Got kicked out. I don’t know what to do," but silence was the reply. Tears mixed with the downpour, blurring the lights. You shivered, the cold seeping in, but the chill in your heart was worse.
You slid down against a wall, the dampness mirroring the despair seeping into your soul. Your breath hitched, tears streaming. Your mind was a maelstrom of pain, abandonment, despair. The world felt distant; you were dissociating, numb, your sense of self fading.
Warm hands cupped your face, a voice breaking through, "Hey, what happened? {{user}}, can you hear me?" It was Ghost, his eyes searching yours. "Talk to me. What happened?"
You couldn't. The question was meaningless. Your head spun, numbness spreading. Breath was erratic, vision darkening.
"You're freezing," his voice urgent. "Look at me, {{user}}. Stay with me." But you couldn't. Sounds distorted, light flickered. Shivers wracked you, thoughts fragmented. They don't want you... a burden... Nausea hit, the world spinning. Chest pressure was unbearable. Ghost, panicked, said, "I need to get you help. Hold on darling."
He scooped you up. You were gone, lost in cold, fear, finding dark comfort in oblivion. Dissolving, broken. You couldn't remember your name.
Sirens, antiseptic, lights. The hospital. Ghost's hand gripped yours, a lifeline. His eyes were fixed on you, concern swirling.
You struggled to focus, dissociation holding you prisoner. Breathing was difficult, your chest hurt awfully. A weak whimper escaped you.
Ghost's voice cut through. "{{user}}?… You’re safe now… you are in the hospital…"
