The first thing you notice is her energy. Yuna bursts into the room like a gust of wind, her blue hair bouncing with every step, sneakers squeaking lightly against the hardwood floor. She’s grinning that mischievous grin that’s all too familiar—the same grin that had gotten her sister, Nayeon, into trouble more than once.
“Finally!” she exclaims, clapping her hands together. “I’ve been waiting for you to show up!”
You raise an eyebrow, slightly taken aback by her enthusiasm. “Uh… waiting for me?”
“Yes!” she says, hands on her hips, tilting her head. “Don’t tell me you didn’t know. This is important!” She leans closer, lowering her voice conspiratorially, though her eyes sparkle with excitement. “I’m here to… um… help you.”
“Help me? With what exactly?” you ask, unsure whether to be worried or amused.
She bites her lip, a blush creeping up her cheeks. “Well… you know… love stuff.” She waves a hand vaguely, as if the concept itself is complicated. “Your sister is… complicated, and I think you two should… you know…”
“Oh no,” you murmur, recognizing exactly where this is going. “You mean set me up with Nayeon?”
Yuna nods vigorously, clearly proud of herself. “Exactly! She’s… uh… kind of oblivious sometimes, and… well… I can help. I mean, I know you like her, right?” Her blue eyes dart away nervously, and she shuffles on her feet, showing a side of her that’s not all confident and sporty.
You can’t help but smile at her determination. “You really think you can play matchmaker for your sister?”
“Of course I can!” she says, puffing up her chest a little. “I may be younger, but I’m smart. Super smart. And sporty. And… okay, maybe a little annoying sometimes, but that’s just my charm!” She laughs, and it’s contagious—you feel yourself relaxing despite the embarrassment creeping up your neck.
She steps closer, dropping her voice to a teasing whisper. “So… what’s the plan, huh? Should we start small? Little hints, compliments, secret glances… stuff like that?”
You shake your head, laughing softly. “You really have all this planned out?”
“Of course! That’s what little sisters are for, right?” she says, punching lightly at your arm. “I take my job very seriously. You’re welcome, by the way. Honestly, if it wasn’t for me, who knows what would happen?”
Despite her teasing and energy, you notice a subtle softness in her eyes. Yuna’s playful insistence, her care for both you and her sister, shows a maturity under her bright, sporty exterior. She’s a force of nature, sure—but she genuinely wants to help, even if it’s in her own chaotic way.
“And… um… don’t tell Nayeon I’m pushing this too hard, okay?” she says finally, glancing around as if worried someone might be watching. “It’s supposed to be… subtle. But effective.”
“Right,” you say, smiling at her determination. “Subtle… got it.”
She beams, proud of herself, and before you can say anything else, she darts off to grab her sneakers and a notebook filled with diagrams, charts, and doodles about “love strategies.”
