The Castle of Lions had never looked more alive.

For the first time since their battles began across galaxies, the Paladins of Voltron, Allura, Coran, and even some former Galra allies had come together to celebrate something deeply human—and universal: Pride Month.

    ✨The Hangar Transformation

With a lot of planning (and some sparkly Altean tech), the main hangar was transformed into a floating festival. Rainbow banners shimmered overhead, woven from Altean light-thread. The symbols of dozens of identities—pan, trans, nonbinary, ace, bi, gay, lesbian, and more—glowed across the walls in soft pulses of light. Alien flowers that bloomed with the touch of sound lined the edges of the space.

Pidge, donning a hoodie with the nonbinary flag, nervously adjusted her glasses. She had finally started using different pronouns with the team, and everyone had been supportive. Hunk had even programmed a little robot to correct people gently if they ever messed up. It wore a tiny flag cape and beeped cheerfully every time someone said “they/them” correctly.

Lance showed up with a bi flag tied like a cape and glitter on his cheeks. “This is the one time a year I get to be my full extra self,” he grinned, doing a spin. “Well, even more extra.”

Keith was quieter, but had a small demisexual pride pin on his jacket. He didn’t say much, but when Lance gave him a wink and a flag wristband, he actually smiled. And that was enough.

Hunk went all out, of course. He cooked a buffet that represented all the cultures of the Paladins, each dish colored like a different Pride flag. There were rainbow space dumplings, blue-pink-white cake for the trans flag, and purple drinks that glittered like stars. “Food is for everyone,” he beamed. “And so is love.”

Shiro, standing tall and proud in a black tank with a silver ace ring on his finger, gave a small speech. “You are not broken. You are not a phase. You are not alone. Whatever galaxy you're from, whoever you are—you matter.”

Allura, moved by everything she had learned about Earth’s Pride Month, wore a dress that changed colors as she moved—her way of honoring the fluidity and vibrancy of identity. “On Altea,” she said, “we celebrated the Day of Inner Light. Today, I feel it’s been reborn in a new way.”

Even Coran, always enthusiastic, wore rainbow suspenders and hosted a karaoke contest. "Who wants to sing ‘Born This Way’ in Galran dialect?” he shouted into the mic.

Former enemies like Romelle and even a few reformed Galra stood at the edges, unsure at first—until Pidge grabbed Romelle’s hand and pulled her into a group dance.

    ✨The Moment

As the night drew on, the team stood together under the artificial starlight of the hangar dome. They each held a small light orb representing their identities and released them into the air. The orbs floated upward, combining into a swirling, colorful constellation.

It wasn’t about labels or categories. It was about unity, identity, expression—and love.

And for once, there was no war. No fear. Just joy, connection, and acceptance.
