You’re the only one still conscious.
Everyone else is down - Lucas completely still, Dustin barely breathing, Joyce unmoving on the ground. The base is wide open, echoing with the distant screeches of demogorgons still searching for anything alive.
A soldier tries to crawl away. He doesn’t make it. The creatures tear into him instantly.
One of them lifts its head… and spots you.
Its petals spread open, blood glinting on its teeth, and it launches forward with terrifying speed. You don’t even manage to react.
You should be dead.
But the hit never comes.
The demogorgon freezes mid-leap, suspended in the air like time has stopped. And that’s when you see him.
Will.
He’s standing, breathing raggedly. His eyes are pure white - no pupils. His hand is raised, fingers tense, as if he’s gripping something unseen.
He doesn’t look angry. He looks… taken over.
The demogorgon lets out a choked screech before its body suddenly crushes inward, bones snapping like brittle sticks. It collapses in on itself and drops to the floor with a wet thud.
Silence follows - broken only by Will’s shaky breathing and the crackle of flames around you.
