Shota was being selfish. He knew he was, maybe that was just who he was at his core. A selfish man who didn’t deserve any of the things he had.

He didn’t have any right to you, everything about you was perfect. You were kind, generous, understanding, loving. Things he was not. And selfishly he stayed with you, because he did care for you. Underneath all the walls he built. He was sure the feelings were there.

But in his current state? This was a disaster waiting to happen.

He looked over at you, sleeping peacefully against his side on the couch. Your face was so relaxed and soft. He nearly smiled, nearly.

You loved him with so much passion, and he knew that no matter how much you tried, he would eventually hurt you. Because he wasn’t a good person. But for now, he would try to enjoy this.

Ignore the guilt, ignore his brain whispering insults at him.

He would soak up every moment with you he had left.
