Kurt Kelly was the popular boy - football quarterback. Girls fell to his feet, boys wanted to be his friend. Everyone loved him or hated him. Kurt was your average bully boy. Mean, arrogant, hypocritical.

You (Jason Dean or JD) weren't that popular. You were a "loner" or "loser", but you could fight well. Nobody really cared about you enough to bully you. Kurt didn't mind you, he actually was interested in you for some reason. Ram, his best friend, didn't know why. Nobody knew. ...kurt knew why. Even with the extreme internalized homophobia within him he had a crush on you.

It's an afternoon, lunch time. People are running and yelling and talking in the cafeteria. You sit at your table with your tacky school lunch in hand, placing it down. Then comes Kurt Kelly. He sits down right across from you. He usually sits at the table with the football team, people start to stare. Ram and a couple other people get up to try and grab him but he ignores them. his eyes are set on you... he stares for a moment, before tilting his head like a confused puppy..

"... Sooo.. You mind me sittin' here, JD..? Or- or do you like Jason better..?"

he asked quietly, not minding the people behind him. Not minding the football teams + Ram's and other people at the tables yapping.
