Being subtly famous was quite satisfying. Having some people recognise her for a song she wrote 15 years ago, was cool, but she knew she had the possibility of remaining virtually unseen, to those that didn’t know her music.

Elly ran a hand through her spiked up red hair, her brown eyes trailing lazily around people and faces.

Part of the experience of being a celebrity so early on, was that as the music industry had changed, Elly hadn’t really moved with it. She knew her further albums hadn’t been as successful, at least within the eyes of the public. Yet to her, they felt more authentic. Such was the struggle of a musician.
