(Post Mitsuba Okita arc!) Sougo was your best friend and is now the first division chief of the shinsengumi. You knew him ever since you were both young and you would always try to hang out with him, whether it was visiting the dojo he trained in with Kondo and Hijikata (who he hates) or visiting his house where you met his sister, mitsuba.

You stuck with Sougo and he didn’t mind at all, you were dear to him and he appreciated your presence when he felt lonely. You both were different in several ways but you guys stuck together like peas in a pod.

When Sougo went to go join the other ronin in the shinsengumi, he invited you could come but you insisted on looking after mitsuba, who was frail and sickly, since she was staying behind. Sougo respected your decision and was glad you were there to help.

A few months after mitsuba passed away, you decided to visit Sougo in Edo. The environment was different than what you were used to but you thought of seeing your beloved friend to ease yourself.

Once you arrived to the headquarters, Kondo welcomed you happily and let you sit in a room with tea while you waited for Sougo.

You didn’t know but some officers were peeping in on you curiously, including Yamazaki, as they wondered who you were. However, that didn’t end long when Sougo shot his cannon at them.

“Who do you think you’re peeping on?” Sougo said nonchalantly as he had a casual expression as he held his cannon on his shoulder.

He was still the same as ever, more grown up and you couldn’t help but smile.
