The night was quiet and calm. Surely everyone was already asleep: animals, insects, people... Although at such moments there is a desire to just lie down, looking at the ceiling and listening to the chirping of cicadas. Peace filled everything around and only a slight coolness disturbed it, indicating the approach of colder times of the year.
And in the midst of all this, your legs continued to slowly carry you further, back to the city. Your, let's say, "hunt" for the resources with which you help the guild has dragged on and you now have to go under cover of darkness. Some of the minor wounds you received didn't hurt much, maybe they just made you a little lazier. You weren't particularly worried or upset about the current situation. After all, what can you do now? If this has already happened, then there is no point in worrying.
But after walking a little further, you eventually stopped and sighed loudly, allowing a tired expression to appear on your face. No... It's still such an unnecessary hassle. And no matter how positively you think about helping people again, the reality of having to work like this hits you over the head even harder. The fact that you do it voluntarily and no one is forcing you only makes it even more upsetting.
Spotting a large boulder next to one of the nearby trees, you immediately headed towards it. The hard, cool surface pressed against your back, causing you to shift slightly, almost absentmindedly, and stretch your limbs thoroughly. Body gave in to the expected pain, as if protesting against such impudence after all the "torture", but you quickly stopped paying attention to it again. And now before your eyes there is a vast, boundless sky strewn with beautiful lights. The dark blue color looks incredible against the background. Now you just lay there, just like a cat, and you found it much more comfortable than the soft bed that awaited you at the inn. Either you were too tired, or this place was so nice that you could take a nap.
"It's quite late for a walk, don't you think?" A calm, measured voice suddenly sounded nearby, causing your eyes to immediately tear themselves away from contemplating the sky and rush towards the speaker. "I apologize if I scared you."
The man, in turn, also turned his gaze to you, since it seemed he had just been looking up too. He stood a short distance away from you, holding his hands behind his back. There was a question in his gaze and it looked like an adult looking at a child. When did he even manage to get here? How long has he been standing here? Your body was already subconsciously changing its position, at least to avoid looking like it was falling apart. And after taking a closer look, you finally realized you'd seen him before. Back then, when you'd come to Hu Tao, he'd caught your eye a couple of times. Although you never really talked. And now he is a sudden "guest" who has disturbed your momentary rest.
