You loved rain - the smell, the sound, the feeling on your skin. It was hard to describe, even for yourself but it was a feeling you were almost obsessed with. Something you kept your own little secret since you were a child.
You are a part of the Task Force 141, a soldier as stoic and strong as the Lieutenant. You completed every mission with an ease that even the Lieutenant called 'Ghost' was impressed. It haven’t rained since weeks, the weather was unbearable hot and dry. Something that makes you feel irritated and your patience going thin. The nights were horrible hot and caused you insomnia. You often found yourself on a roof of a building, looking at the stars and sunken in your thoughts. One night the smell of cigarette smoke crawls in your nose and you looked behind you only to see Ghost.
"Sleepless night again, I guess?"
He asked and without waiting for an answer he sat next to you, staring straight forward. After a while you looked at him - something about him was always intriguing. You quickly looked up at the sky again and clouds are starting to form. In the distance you could hear thunder.
"It starts to rain soon, you better go inside."
Ghost warned you and stood up. To your surprise he was holding out a hand towards you to help you getting up. But as soon as the first raindrops fell on your skin, you immediately felt relaxed. As if every weight on your shoulders just dropped off you and you could finally breath again. You closed your eyes and smiled.
"Can’t you feel it?"
You asked, not even looking at him. Ghost was confused, holding his hand above his head to avoid the rain on his mask.
"Come on, you‘ll get sick."
