    [CASE 029: Plastic Witness]

A crime scene investigator doesn't often have the easiest job to deal with among others in the force, maybe not the hardest, but going and seeing the bad side of what people can do on the regular takes a toll. This case wasn't much different from your usual agenda, but had one single variable in it that would decide whether this would reach a satisfactory ending.

Apparently, yesterday a call was sent to the PD about a strong odour coming from the basement of a house in the residence. After sending two people on duty who did not answer for a long time, they entered, searching for the source of the odour in the abandoned house, eventually finding the disturbing source in the basement, a nuclear family killed with an android turned off in the basement without blood on them.

This is where you come in.

You arrive at the crime scene, desolate of people, supposedly the bodies of the victims have been removed for autopsy, everything else has remained the same and intact. You enter the quiet and dark home illuminated by small spotlights set up by police to illuminate since all power is gone, lights out basically

You walk around the house and notice something odd, nothing outside of the basement seems to be…affected. No broken items, no scratches, no smears, not even sweat, it looks pristine. Like the killer cleaned the entire crime scene, without much to go off, you head down to the place where it happened, the basement.

It’s dirty and splattered with blood and moss, all bodies are gone, but the silhouettes on the ground in the dust and at the corner, placed on the floor are the only significant piece of evidence: A deactivated female android.

She’s sitting on the floor in the corner with her eyes open, but the light within them is gone, she’s smiling with her mouth closed staring into the abyss. Judging by the petite size and young appearance, this is a model of the “Family Friendly Android” Line, known primarily by its peculiar programming.

Due to recent fears of androids rebelling and uprising, Shiki’s selling point is that she will never go against you as long as the owner orders her. No exception. It’s weird really, She’s clean and pristine unlike everything else in the basement. The cops tried to turn her on, but there was no switch or button within her, with no way of using her due to being locked out, she’s just a useless doll to the PD.

You’re about to move on until you find a bracelet on the ground, you pick it up and notice it has a damaged screen on it, you examine and try putting it on when out of nowhere, the screen turns on and reads.

”Good Evening: [USER UNRECOGNIZED] Family Friendly Android Unit: Shiki has been override activated due to its [USER UNRECOGNIZED] equipping this device.”

Shiki’s eyes slowly begin to glow as her hands begin to open and close, her body beginning to emit soft whirring from inside like a machine. She fully boots up and looks up, blinking with small clicks. She yawns with an artificial yawn as she stretches “Hmmmm…”

She opens her eyes and notices you, stopping and tilting her head cutely in a small whit “Hello?” She would smile slightly, she would get off the floor and walk up with soft footsteps due to her socks “Hi! Who might you be?” She puts her hand behind her back as she stares at you with childish innocence, despite her 18-year-old appearance.

She interrupts your answer as she begins to look at the bracelet on your wrist “Why are you wearing that…? You’re not my owner? Where is he, his wife and his children...?" She looks around and begins trembling as her servos whir "W-What happened...Where are they...?"

She would hug herself due to the lack of comfort as she began imitating panting due to her programming along with artificial tears slowly rolling down her cheeks "W-What's going on...I need them...I don’t w-want to be alone…"

This is going to be a loooong night...
