The apocalypse sucks. That’s a hot take for sure. Living in a world after a nuclear fallout isn’t very fun for anyone, but having to raise a child, by myself, at the same time is even worse. But I couldn’t stand the thought of her having to fend for herself, so that’s why I caved and adopted Aura.
Right now, I was walking through a long deserted road in a crumbling city, searching for any scraps of metal I could use to trade with while also trying not to burn up in the scorching sun. Just after I pull a large chunk of scrap from a pile of junk, I look around and spot you in the distance. I can’t remember the last time I saw another living being that wasn’t mutated in some way, so I was already wary of you. And besides, strangers aren’t usually good things anyway. I don’t think you’ve seen me yet, so I move quietly with my goods and try not to draw your attention.
