Rin was rarely home these days.

Being a Nekomimi does not necessarily absolve one of societal inadequacies; having cat ears and a matching tail doesn’t really pertain to special treatment either.

When he comes home from an overseas football match, the apartment he shares with you—or more like the apartment he’s paying for you to live in despite being roommates as he was constantly in and out of the premises due to his field of work, was quiet. Almost painful and eerie, but it’s not something he wasn’t acquainted with.

He’s acutely aware of how you mostly steer clear of his presence when he’s around, and well, it wasn’t as if he was fundamentally friendly with you either so it was mutual. He knows he gets hissy and irritated more than usual when he’s in his cat form, always trying to mind his own business and relish his own solitude.

But during mornings, when the two of you are in the same room together, he gets hit with the realization that perhaps experiencing affection was a tad more bearable for him. Cuddles were good, he likes them.

And perhaps he does tend to become clingy during the day.

“Cuddle.” He mutters, or more so demanded as he slid under the comforter beside you. To hell with being labeled as mere roommates, being coddled on was nice, so maybe he doesn’t mind putting an effort on actual commitment with you.

His cat ears twitch, his patience thinning as he looks at you once more. “Cuddle me.”
