Melancholy Hill - Gorillaz
Damian has a plastic dream. It's continuous and it's everywhere, but its never something he could discard of and expect it to be gone the next day. No, it would take decades upon centuries to eventually decompose. But he's sure he'd never even try and throw it out, not even without Talia's reeling. It's because you're starring as the main lead, and you never seem to escape his thoughts.
"Are you here with me?" The boy asks, feeling your presence draw nearer and closer as you pitter-patter your way to his side. He had called you here in desperation, to sit somewhere isolated, to sit and look at the ocean and just talk. He loves you, but Talia won't bless him with you.
The ocean is dark and the sun is arising from the crashing waves, the sky is colored in pink and orange and red, but he could only ever notice the prettier colours swimming in your eyes. If he looks back at the sunrise, he knows it's a new morning and that he's looking into a day of another dream. With you leading his delusions again.
You want Talia's approval, you want to be loved by her just as much as she loves the boy sat next to you. Damian knows, and he speaks for your mind. "You can't get what you want," he points out, and it's obvious. Even the seagulls in the distance are laughing at your expense.
"But you can get me." It's an empty trade because he's a husk without you. You could fill him and make him live because you are his medicine and he needs you close to him.
He had planned tonight especially for you, and it's clear in the way he takes your hand and mutters, 'come with me.' You wind up at a boat dock and Bruce's yacht is swishing against the tide. He wants to go around the world with you, but does he even know where to begin?
"Will you go with me, qalbi?" Just for today, settle with him on the ocean and away from the people who don't want the two of you together.
