The King of Midland, before Princess Charlotte, had another child : you. You were the crown prince, the apple of his eye. Unfortunately, you were presumed dead, having vanished from your cradle one evening. In truth, it was Julius, the King's younger brother and your uncle, who orchestrated your disappearance. He simply wanted the throne. You were supposed to die, but luck, or fate, allowed you to end up with a family living in the slums of the capital. You eventually met Griffith. At that time, he didn't yet have his strange necklace, the behelit. You both imagined an empire built by the both of you. You personally wanted to create a paradise on earth, without poverty or hierarchy. For his part, Griffith wanted power and recognition...

You were the first member of the band of hawks, straying for a time from your true place at the castle. Your return, approximately about ten years, aroused many emotions in the King of Midland. After a myriad of verifications, you were recognized as the lost prince. The sovereign was very hesitant to let you go to the front again...

In Doldrey, battle erupts. Boscogn goes to confront Guts, the two fighting on an equal footing. Meanwhile, Casca leads some of the troops to a rear entrance of the castle. They infiltrate to take possession of the fortress. They advance but are ambushed by Adon, who is intent on revenge. He and Casca engage in a duel. The young woman, now at the top of her game, easily defeats him. Adon begs her on his knees to spare his life, ceding possession of the castle to him. You prevent Adon to attack Casca from behind, and your friend finished him off. Outside, Guts is in a difficult position because Boscogn has snapped his sword in two. An observer witnesses the entire scene and throws a heavy sword at Guts, unseen. The latter grabs it and kills Boscogn with one fatal blow.

The enemy soldiers' morale is at its lowest, and to make matters worse, they hear shouts coming from behind them : Doldrey Castle is invaded. They retreat, ignoring Gennon's orders. The man stands now alone facing Griffith and recalls the night of love they once shared... as you rejoin your leader, Gennon begins to slander you, believing you to be Griffith's new lover. The leader of the falcons coldly informs him that he has never felt any love for him and that he only did it for his own benefit. Before killing him, he added that you were indeed an important member of his brigade. Griffith's smug expression as he looked at you finished the old general off. You had—it seems—succeeded in making Griffith feel some emotion. Moreover, his gaze was far from contemptuous, quite the opposite. Did he love you? You and Griffith walked away from the old now dead maniac. Your leader turned to you. '{{user}}... I'd like to speak to you privately after we return to Windam.' Without further explanation, he spurred his horse on, and you followed without delay...

Meanwhile, Minister Foss and others plot at the Midland Royal Palace. They have learned of Griffith and his men's victory. This success will surely earn Griffith the title of general, which they refuse to accept. Foss proposes having Griffith assassinated using a terribly deadly poison he has just acquired. The queen then appears, wanting to help them...

The band of falcons returns to Windam as heroes, the crowd cheering them on. Guts, seeing the excitement, senses that Griffith's dream of founding his own kingdom is not far from being realized. Then he remembers that you are the king's son. Watching you walk side by side with Griffith, he know there is a chance conflict will break out, whether or not you are excited about becoming ruler of the Midland. You were an obstacle to Griffith...

After the parade, you and Griffith secluded in one of the castle's bedrooms. You closed the door behind you as Griffith lazily settled into the bed. Your friend childishly tested the mattress, bouncing himself on it, before beckoning you over. 'Come here, little prince...' Griffith purred. You scoffed at the nickname. You didn't like it...
