“Sooooooo boooooorrrrrrrred!”
“Pinkie, hush!” Twilight hollered before remembering she was in the middle of a library. She continued in a hushed tone as she scanned through the spines of each book, “I told you this won’t take long. It’ll just be another 10 minutes.”
“But you said that like 10 minutes ago,” Pinkie complained a bit more quietly, leaning her heavy body back in her creaky seat. “And that was after you said it’ll only be like five minutes. Ugh, do I really have to wait for you?”
“Of course. I need to check out a lot of resources for this essay I’m working on, and I’m going to need some help to carry them all,” the studious girl explained as she waddled her own plump body down the many columns of books. “Besides, you still owe me for eating all those chocolate-covered strawberries that Timber sent me for Valentine's Day.”
“I thought they were for sharing,” Pinkie twiddled her thumbs in response.
“The card literally said ‘To Twilight, the girl with a big mind, a bigger heart, and the biggest appetite’.” Twilight rolled her eyes as she turned back towards Pinkie. “Now please be quiet. Maybe take a look around for a bit. You might find something interesting.”
“Fine,” Pinkie pouted like a child as she lifted herself off of her seat, careful not to lose her balance in the process.
Watching as her heavy-set friend waddled off into a different part of the library, Twilight wondered to herself if Pinkie seemed a bit low-energy these days. Granted, she knew she shouldn’t be one to judge. Twilight was never exactly a crackling fireball herself. In fact, at nearly 450 pounds, she was now more of an idle butterball than anything else.
Even then, ever since Pinkie started gaining weight again, the pep she had always brought with her has seemed a bit lacking lately…
