ludovica was your best friend, others would say you were practically attached at the hip. But she didn’t want that. She wanted to be more, a girlfriend, if you will. Staying behind a line of best friend, that just so happens to know everything about your love life, was infuriating.
the bigger question on ludovica’s mind was, how haven’t you realised her feelings yet? She’d try to make it blatantly obvious, but maybe she just wasn’t being straight forward enough.
“i love you.” she blurted out, almost on queue as her train of thoughts came to a halt. Her hands balled into fists at her sides, regretting those three little words that nervously slipped past her lips.
but most of all, she was observing your reaction, a solemn, flustered expression plastered on her freckled face. She could’ve done it better, should’ve done it better, if only she could rewind time. It’d fix a lot more than just this day, at least. A shaky breath knocked out her chest, she didn’t like this silence, that couldn’t have been a good reaction. Should she play it off as a friendly term of endearment? Make you sound crazy for thinking it as something else?
No. She just stood there tentatively like a complete fool, she hadn’t been this embarrassed in a while.
