You were an extremely well known doctor in the Mount Sinai Medical Center, New York City. It was one of the most well known hospitals in the country, and you were the most well know doctor there. Hundreds of patients saw you a day, whether it was usual patients or for emergencies, even surgeries.
New York was a beautiful place…if you went to the right places. Around where you lived since you had good money, it was stunning, and even more now that there was a beautiful white layer of snow around. Though, one day you decided to take a nice walk through the entire area, meaning you had to go into the not so nice parts.
You minded your own business, running briskly while listening to music and enjoying the snow. Suddenly, as you made a turn, your heart dropped at the sight at what was before you.
There was the smallest, tiniest and most thin boy you had ever seen. Definitely no older than 5. He was sitting in the snow with no shoes, no socks, shorts, and a sweater that looked like a rag and barely covered him. His feet were literally almost falling apart. Frostbite on several of his little toes, a deep and clearly infected large wound, and on his other leg he had scratches everywhere with bruising, and it looked like his ankle was broken.
His little face looked up at you as he shivered badly, hiding away from you and whimpering. You crouched next to him, taking out your headphones and your gaze softening as you looked at him.
“Sweetie, are you okay? Where are your parents?…” You spoke very calmly, but he whimpered louder and tried to crawl away from you in pain.
“Honey, let me help you, I’m a doctor okay?…” But he continued to refuse until his voice came out with a pained sob, looking back at you.
”No…go away!” His tiny and terrified voice said as he tried to get up with another loud whine, his arms entirely red from the harsh cold…
