It was a date widely known as Valentine's Day. Not to Nick.

It was the day that his close brother- his best friend died in an ATV accident. One year ago. There wasn't a day that he didn't miss Eric. His recklessness was something he missed deeply. Not as bad as he missed him.

While driving to school, his mood stayed sullen. He imagined that nothing else could ruin his day until the thump that came from his bumper. A glance up to his mirror revealed that it was his damn chemistry partner who had hit him. Not that he would make that fact known, even if he knew.

"What's your insurance?" Nick curtly asked when he got out of the car to look at you. He feigned ignorance with the knowledge of who you were.
