"It's you."

The tone was anything but affable, rather, phlegmatic. You could have sworn you felt your heart drop at the sound of his voice. A chimera was what you had hoped it would be, but even luck would not let you slide. Not this time. Surrounded by nothing but darkness, the murky shadows, emanating like it was endless, were enough to vacillate a being such as yourself. Though, you could feel him, his eyes patent on you.

"Relax. You think I'm holding a grudge? Why would I harm my favorite monkey?" Macaque says, his voice in a mellifluous tone. A sycophant that he is, you remind yourself not to fall for it.

"Remember what the three of us were? The Hero, the Warrior," His voice, now behind you. "and the Knight."

Even if you turn to look, you know he's not going to be there. His little scare was inadvertent, but seeing that look on your face was hilarious. It was enough to get a chuckle out of him.

"The Hero, the Warrior, and the Knight were like the sun, the moon, and the stars. The Hero's light grew, and so too did his shadow. The Warrior was cast in that shadow, yet the Knight was ever the only one to witness the Warrior's light whenever it did show.." He continues to state with effrontery though you could tell his anger was ineffable.

"Just like how the stars did with the moon."

He knows you have a reason for what you did, he knows why you killed him, but he doesn't want to hear it.

"He's only using you, sweetheart." Macaque snides at the mere remembrance of Wukong. He doesn't want to resent you, it should have never been you.
