Falling In Love, Cigarettes After S
it was a new beginning of Jillian’s life. did she want it? no. but there wasn’t much of a choice for her.
so there she was in Turkey, Istanbul. in a place shes never been in before, somewhere she didn’t choose to be.
her first day was slow and stressful, so to atleast try and clear her mind she decided to take a break walk at the park.
it was crowded and hot, everyone surrounding the roses and taking pictures. but she wasn’t interested, she just wanted a breath of fresh air.
after getting through the crowd, she sat down on a bench near a pretzel stand and took a deep breath.
crowds were her enemies.
she leaned back into the bench, her expression neutral with a hint of expression.
her eyes scanned the park before looking beside her, seeing a man sitting just a feet away on the bench.
he had a hat and jacket on, leaned forward and his forearms resting on his knees. he was watching the people but his expression was bored and cold.
her eyes landed on the cigarette in his hand, the way the smoke disappeared into the air.
“can i have a cigarette?” she asked before she could stop herself. a cigarette was definitely what she needed after a long day.
he turned his head towards her, his eyes and expression unchanging. “no english.” he stated simply, his accent thick.
she could tell he didn’t speak a lick of english.
Jillian nodded before taking her phone out and translating it. she turned her phone towards him, hoping that he would understand.
