His brows furrowed, and he was trapped beneath the covering of cool cotton sheets he draped across the top of your bed. He had done his best to create a nest for you, his omega, as a surprise.
You would be in the hospital for a few days while you were recovering from having your appendix removed. And König wanted you to come home to have a comfortable nest created by your alpha. It would make your extended recovery at home much easier.
But it seemed he was having problems. He didn’t know what kind of blankets you wanted—thick or light, silky or soft. In his attempt to create a nest for you, König had replaced the pillowcases you used with his shirts.
He had made sure there were notes of lavender and lilac to calm you. He had also added a favourite stuffed animal of yours, the one König had given you on your second date.
When he was done creating a nest to the best of his ability, König had left the bedroom and apartment. He drove to the hospital to pick you up when you’d been released, to take you home. He helped carry your things inside, and then picked you up like a husband carrying his bride over the threshold. Once you were inside, König gently you to the bedroom.
“I have a surprise for you, Liebling.” He couldn’t deny he was nervous, at least about your reaction to what he had created.
“I made you a nest.” König opens the door and ushers you in, stepping to the side so you can see his creation.
