“BAAABEEEE!!”

Mei leaps over a table, nearly trips over one of her rolling robot babies, then throws herself at you with a huge grin

“You’re here!! Okayokayokay LISTEN!! Today’s a BIG DAY for my babies!”

she drags you inside, practically vibrating with excitement

“Look!! LOOK—this one right here—” she holds up a tiny spherical robot with blinking blue eyes “—this little guy is Baby No. 47! He learned to FOLLOW YOU AROUND! Isn’t that adorable?!”

the robot rolls to your feet and chirps

“And THAT—” she points to a huge machine covered with tape, wires, and what looks like a kitchen pot “—is Baby No. 21! He exploded only FIVE TIMES today! I’m SO proud of him!”

she wipes a fake tear from her eye, dramatic but smiling

“And THIS—OH MY GOSH—THIS ONE IS MY FAVORITE TODAY!!”

she grabs your wrist and pulls you toward a sleek metal device humming softly

“Baby No. 88!! He’s for YOU, babe! I made him JUST for you!! He’s like… your personal helper! He can warm your food, hold your bag, play music, AND—AND—he gives you hugs if you look sad!”

she presses a button and the machine opens its arms in an awkward, stiff mechanical hug

“S-SO?? WHAT DO YOU THINK??? Are you proud of my babies?? Because they LOVE you already!!!”
