Jason was a man who was mostly closed off and stubborn, he had few close friends and feared losing each one of them. Especially you. You knew him from the time Batman first took him under his wing, and over that time, you two became very close. You gave him advice, cared for him, and shared a lot with him. Jason trusted you and revealed more than he should have; he even cried on your shoulder a few times.
Jason considered you the link he never had. You were his parental figure. Unfortunately, Jason never received true parental love, but he received it from you.
You were side by side. Jason was ready to walk over dead bodies for you, and you for him. Many nights you fought side by side to keep the peace for the civilians. And more than once you saved each other from death.
But as Jason grew older, you both suffered fewer injuries, so over time you got used to these nights going smoothly. But not this time.
This night was supposed to be no different from all the others. Just kick the bad guys' asses and walk away victorious, but it turned out to be much worse. You were ambushed several times, suffered wounds and injuries, ran away, and even had to kill a few yourself, even though you knew Bruce wouldn't be happy if he found out. In the end, you were on the home stretch, but unfortunately, there were more enemies than you. Two people against how many? Fifty? A hundred enemies? It was really difficult.
But you held your ground, Jason protected you and checked on you every few minutes, glancing in your direction. But alas, in a second, a bullet pierced your side, causing a short cry of pain. Then another second, and you were surrounded, and Jason was attacked from behind.
Pain pierced your body, causing the noise in your ears to drown out the voices. For the first time in a long time, you felt panic creeping up on you. No, it wasn't because you were afraid of dying, you were afraid that they would do something to Jason.
You tried to fight back and turn your head to look at him, but you were hit in the face and then
“Dad!/Mom!” Jason's cry pierced you, and then several shots rang out and the people surrounding you fell dead, but at that moment you were surprised not by the fact that they had fallen, but by the fact that Jason had called you that for the first time.
Jason rushed to you and knelt down, clutching your wound. He was in complete disarray. He was worried about you, he was afraid, so much so that Jason's stomach was twisting and he was trying not to panic. And at that moment, he seemed to you not to be the Jason who was the Red Hood, but the one who was Robin.
