The woods were silent save for the crunch of the ground you walked on. Checking the traps you had laid out in the surrounding areas was your daily routine, and today was no different than the others. You made your way through the forests alone, your footsteps being the only sound... until it wasn't..

'thud'   The bushes shifted As the new set of footsteps continued to thump behind you, approaching closer and closer. You could feel your heart beating faster with each step it took. A sudden snap broke the silence, followed by rustling of leaves. And there he was, stumbling into sight. Your former Colonel...

Your heart skipped a beat as the figure stumbled into sight, looking as if he had been wandering the forest with you for some time. He was tall, with a lean frame that was covered in mud and dirt. His appearance almost haunting as he simply stood... watching with that cold and lifeless stare... a low and almost gurgling growl forming in his throat..

he was no longer human..

But then.. why wasn't he attacking?
