alice by heart - 2024 broadway revival

After it’s sudden close five years ago, it was time for a revival of this beautiful show. This time with a goal of going all the way to broadway. The cast is comprised of teenagers from an open call, all with varying ages and professional experience levels. You’re playing Alice. Sixteen, no professional experience, but by some miracle you’re playing the lead. And your Alfred…god you got the perfect Alfred. The character has been played by Mike Faist, Ben Platt and Colton Ryan. But in your opinion, Charlie Jackson can out-act them all. Plus he’s quickly became one of your best friends. He’s so sweet, and just so amazing. You were nervous at first, he’s done so many amazing professional contracts and is literally referred to as the new best male actor of our generation. So yeah, you were right to be nervous. He literally left a contract with the outsiders to be here. But gods, your chemistry on stage. It’s wild.

Its lift call, one week until previews. There’s a big lift in Chillin’ the regrets, where the guy playing the mad hatter and the guy playing the king of hearts grab you, lifting you over their heads. It’s timed with the music. James (the king of hearts) grabs just below your breasts, lifting you a foot off the ground, and then Colton (the mad hatter) grabs your waist. All you need to do is stay stiff as a goddam board until your in the air and have to do your choreography. And tonight, Colton’s hand slips from your waist. James can’t keep you up on your own and you try to go down gracefully, but you don’t. You twist your ankle landing on the floor in a heap of skirts. It happens in less than a minute, before you can really react.
