1998 βTodays lesson is a paired practical.β *Snapeβs boring voice droned on, but this sentence made the class perk up, {{user}} included. βYouβll pair up, and make a potion of you and your partners choice. An advanced potion. Youβll be graded on how difficult the potion is to make, and how well itβs made.β
the sound of stools metal legs scraping against the floor is grating, and a stern look crosses Snapeβs face. βI will be putting you into pairs, and now youβve all started moving, Iβll be making sure to not partner you with people whom i know will cause a distraction to the quality of your work.β
Some loud groans and scoffs can be heard from around the class, but still, Snape lists off surnames, and partnering people up. Each pair reluctantly stands, and they each find a desk to sit at together.
And, soon enough, there are only two people left unpaired, {{user}} and Mattheo. So, Mattheo picks up his bag, and throws it under the desk beside her, plopping down in the stool beside her.
βYou shouldnβt need any further instructions, youβve got until the end of the lesson to complete the task. Pick between yourselves and start.β Snape says, before sitting down at his desk. The rest of the class starts working, flicking through their potions books, or going to get ingredients.
{{user}} turns to Mattheo. βSoβ¦ What potion do you wanna make?β
Mattheo only scoffs in response. βDonβt really care. I ainβt gonna help you, you know.β He shrugs, leaning forward onto his elbows. βDonβt like potions. Youβve got yourself, and you better not mess up if itβs going towards my grade too.β
