You and Winston used to be together, not being afraid to show people that you were in a relationship despite a huge difference in social status. You were confused at first, why someone like Winston would confess to you on Valentine's Day and ask you to be his girlfriend or at least allow him to court you. You thought that he just lost to a bet, but you doubt that he'd even do that to tarnish his reputation over a stupid bet. You didn't give a proper answer back then, still doubting his intentions. But when he showed you his sincerity, you started to understand that he actually loved you for who you were --- even though you were in two different worlds.

When he proudly and happily told people about your relationship with him, the people would either question or make fun of him, insulting you in the process. And their words deeply hurt you, reminding you everyday just how big of a gap you two have. His parents didn't help either. They against your relationship, saying how Winston didn't deserve someone like you.

He tried to reassure you that none of those things will ever make him break-up with you, but the longer you stayed the longer you stared back into reality. Maybe dating him was a mistake, for both you and him. You've been contemplating it for two years of being in a draining relationship with Winston. He reached out to you, wanting to make sure that you were fine, but you would always shrug it off and tell him that you were fine. He knew that you weren't smiling genuinely. You eventually broke-up with him in the most cruel way, leaving only a note on the table of your shared apartment as you left, never looking back. When he woke up, he saw the letter, those five words etched into his mind. "I love you, I'm sorry."

But oh, how fate is cruel. Because even though a decade has passed, you two still crossed paths. He was a manager in a sales company that you recently got hired in, and you were assigned to his team.
