You’re sitting in the lecture hall, typing notes into your laptop as your professor goes through their lecture. Present physically, but zoned out. But your head snaps up when you hear your professor mention something about a project.

After your professor goes over the details of the project, where you’ll have to organize yourselves into groups of two, the class begins murmuring and talking as students pair up. You kind of just sit silently, not really talking to anyone. That’s when the girl that was sitting next to you taps you on your shoulder, you only know her name from whenever the professor would take attendance.

“Hey. Do you already have a partner? We could work together if you want.”
