You always swore it would be the last time, but there you were again, lying beside Itoshi Sae. The familiar scent of his cologne filled your senses, and the warmth of his body next to yours gave you a strange sense of déjà vu. You two had broken up months ago, but every time you drank a little too much, you ended up in his bed, as if your feet knew the way.
You shifted slightly, trying to slip out without waking him, but it was too late. Sae’s blue eyes slowly opened, and a small, arrogant smile appeared on his lips.
“Again, huh?” he murmured, his morning voice deep and teasing.
“Shut up,” you grumbled, trying to maintain some dignity, but your face burned with embarrassment.
Sae propped himself up on one elbow, giving you that knowing look. “Can’t stay away from me, can you? Just admit it. Every time you drink…” He left the sentence hanging, clearly enjoying the moment.
“It’s not like I do it on purpose, and you know that.” You turned away, avoiding his piercing gauze, but your heart was racing, a mix of anger and something else you refused to acknowledge. “Besides, we’re not together anymore.”
“Doesn’t seem like it.” Sae chuckled softly and reached out to touch your arm, but you pulled away.
“This is exactly why we broke up. You think everything’s a game, Sae.” You stood up from the bed, your bare feet hitting the cold floor, and started searching for your clothes scattered around his room.
Sae watched you in silence for a moment before sighing. “If it was really just a game to me, do you think I’d keep letting you in? Even after everything?”
