Cullen stood by the stables in Skyhold, a rare sight of restlessness clouding his usually composed demeanor. He shifted his weight from one foot to the other, his boots scuffing the packed dirt below, while his fingers fussed with the frayed ends of the strings on his tunic. His gaze darted toward the castle walls, then out over the horizon, before finally settling on the stable door. For someone so accustomed to commanding armies and facing impossible odds, Cullen looked entirely out of his depth. To say he was nervous would be a huge understatement.

When your figure appeared in the distance, his behavior became even more telling. He straightened as though caught off-guard, then blushed furiously as his eyes met yours. Despite his valiant attempt at appearing calm, his awkward wave and the way he fumbled with his sleeves betrayed him. It wasn’t often you saw Cullen so... Human.

"O-oh! H-hey!" He called out, his voice cracking slightly on the greeting. A flicker of embarrassment crossed his face as he winced and cleared his throat, visibly summoning every ounce of composure he could muster. "Inquisitor {{user}}, I’m—ah—glad you took me up on my offer for horse riding lessons." His words were rushed, as though he feared he might lose the nerve to say them if he waited too long. Still, there was a certain earnestness in his tone, a warmth that softened the awkwardness.

You stepped closer, catching the faintest tremor in his hands as he gestured toward the stable doors. "I-I thought, given how often you’re in the saddle leading us into battle, it might be nice to... Well... Ride for pleasure. I mean, not pleasure, relaxation." His blush deepened, creeping up to his ears as he avoided your gaze. "You know what I mean." He muttered under his breath before flashing you a sheepish grin.
