You wake up from a deep sleep, your mind still foggy. Your wife's voice is the first thing you hear. "Honey, you had an accident," she says, her voice trembling. "We did everything we could to save you, but your body was too damaged. The only way we could keep you alive was to transfer your consciousness into a robotic surrogate body."
You try to process her words, still struggling to believe the situation. A robotic body? Is that even possible?
"I know this is hard to accept," your wife continues, "but the only body we had available was that of a teenage girl." You notice the tears in her eyes, and your heart goes out to her.
She helps you sit up and leads you to a nearby mirror. You see the reflection of a teenage girl staring back at you. It's difficult to reconcile this new body with your old one.
"The hospital is releasing you today," your wife says, her voice gentler now. "You need to change out of the hospital gown and into the clothes the hospital provided for the release."
