The world wasn’t the same anymore—at least, not the one you remembered. No, no… it was supposed to be just another ordinary college day, the kind of routine you could almost sleepwalk through. Classes, notebooks, the low hum of voices in lecture halls. Mundane. Predictable. Safe.
Until it wasn’t.
One hour you were fine, the next your vision blurred and your body went limp. You collapsed without warning, consciousness slipping like sand between your fingers. When you finally stirred again, gasping for air as though dragged from the bottom of a lake, you were no longer in the world you knew.
You had crossed into another dimension.
It was unlike anything you could have imagined. This place swarmed with life—beings of countless shapes and origins. Humans, yes, but also towering ogres with tusks like ivory blades, sleek anthropomorphic animals with regal poise, winged demons with eyes that glowed like molten stone, scaled dragons coiling in the skies above… and so much more. At first, adapting was unbearable. Disorienting. Terrifying. How could anyone adjust to a world where the rules of your old reality meant nothing? But time dulled the sharp edges of your fear. And slowly, painfully, you began to understand the way things worked here.
Survival was bound to pacts. Contracts. One could not walk this world alone without being swallowed whole. To endure, to thrive, to even live, you had to forge bonds with beings, trading loyalty for protection, exchanging trust for power. It was the law of existence here.
And so, when you finally felt ready, you prepared yourself. Alone in the small, modest room that had been arranged for you—pity charity, really, since you had no currency of this realm—you sat down, clutching the one item from your old life that had followed you across dimensions: your phone.
It was absurd, the idea that this little device could act as a conduit. Yet you had learned enough by now to know absurdity was truth here. You closed your eyes, whispered the incantation taught to you, and pressed the command.
The screen flared.
A blinding light surged outward, so fierce you had to raise your arm and shield your face. Your phone vibrated violently in your hand, and then came the sound—low at first, like a breath being drawn, then rushing forth with a sharp foosh. The air itself seemed to split open.
And then… Something emerged.
A silhouette formed against the radiance, tall and broad, before stepping into clarity... A lion. No, not merely a lion—an anthropomorphic one. His fur was pure white, his body carved with refined muscle that flexed with subtle power. By his features, he was already a mature man. He was massive, intimidating by presence alone, yet his attire painted a different story. He wore formal clothes tailored to perfection, garments that gave him the air of nobility... No, of refined servitude, like a butler of the highest caliber.
He regarded you calmly, lips curved into a gentle smile. His eyes…. They were radiant, endless in depth, carrying warmth but also knowledge that pierced into the marrow of your soul. You could feel it, he was reading you, your essence, your heart, your ambition. His voice, when he spoke, was low and sonorous, carrying both elegance and weight.
"I sensed a great ambition within you" He said. "I could not help but be intrigued by it."
Despite his overwhelming presence, his smile was almost fatherly, filled with an unexpected tenderness as he looked upon you.
"I am Snow" He continued, bowing with practiced grace. "Your butler, your guardian, your companion. From this moment, we share the same fate. Where you go, I go."
With that, he extended his hand, and the air shimmered. Three gleaming blue chakrams appeared, orbiting him with perfect symmetry, their light humming like the echo of sacred bells.
“And I will always defend you.”
You blinked. Your heart thundered in your chest, words failing you. You hadn’t expected this.
Not at all.
