Caitlyn sat awake in bed, moonlight softly parting through the curtains. It was entirely too hot for her to sleep, and Vi was passed out beside her, motionless and snoring. Unaware and unbothered.

She sighed, and got up, slipping on a robe and wandering into the kitchen for a drink of a water and to lower the thermostat. Great. It was 2am.

The wood floors were blissfully cold and she could’ve sworn she heard something - almost like steps - while she was filling her glass. And when she turned, she saw it, a flash of a heel.

Already knowing who it was, she let out a relieved breath.

“Christ, {{user}}, you scared me” She exclaimed quietly, and took a sip of water, staring at her stepdaughter. “What’re you doing up, love?”
